COVID SAFETY INFO FOR THE NORTHCOURT
as at 12th July 2021
The Situation
We opened to full capacity from Monday 19th July and want to continue to welcome you back as safely as we can, so we will be taking some extra measures to keep you safe and to protect our staff, artists and crew:
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
We have reluctantly decided to introduce some entry requirements to our premises. These will apply to all Artists, Staff & Customers because we are an all standing venue. This inevitably means people will be standing very close to each other and dancing or even singing along to the songs. We are unable to leave doors and windows open permanently because we are in a residential area and the noise levels would become far too high for the local residents. So for your protection and those of the people around you we will request ANY ONE OF the following.
a. Proof of double vaccination. This can be by means of showing your card supplied to you when you were vaccinated or if you use the NHS app it will show your vaccine status there. Those who have now had their Booster vaccination can also simply show that card since inevitably you would have had your two previous vaccinations to be given your booster.
b. By taking a Lateral Flow Test (or PCR test) a max of 48hrs prior to the event you are attending and showing proof of a negative result. Again this can be via the NHS app or NHS Covid app or even simply by taking a pic on your phone of the result and bringing that with you. Lateral Flow Tests can be obtained free from the NHS site (see link below in the testing section) or from your local pharmacy who in many cases will also test you if you request it.
c. We recognise that some people are simply unable to be vaccinated for a variety of medical reasons including allergic reactions. We will not ask about the medical reason, that is a matter for you and your GP but we will ask you to show an exemption letter/certificate/card indicating you are indeed unable to be vaccinated.
We also believe it is all of our collective responsibilities to look after one another and prevent the spread of covid to the most vulnerable in our society so we ask you to take note of the following requests.
SYMPTOMS
If you have Covid symptoms or believe you may have been exposed to infection, please don’t come to our venue. Advice is to take a test at the first opportunity and to isolate whilst you await the results. With 48hrs notice we will be happy to refund you the cost of your ticket if you already have one.
MASKS
For the safety of our staff and your fellow customers, we encourage you to wear masks when standing or moving about, but you are not obligated to do so. It’s your choice.
AIRFLOW & VENTILATION
The Northcourt has a comprehensive air extraction system in all our main public areas. This powerful system means you can be confident that we are replacing the air you breathe several times an hour to help prevent any spread of COVID19. Our air conditioning system will have to put out of use for the present since this recirculates air but does not clean it. The extraction system on the other hand will remove the old air from the rooms. For this reason and when possible we will be opening fire-doors and windows in between performances to allow more frequent changes of air in the room. We cannot however leave these open permanently since we are located in a residential area, nor is it advisable to do so during winter nights.
CLEANING
We have implemented extra cleaning measures to maintain a safe environment. All high touch surfaces will be regularly cleaned. Toilets will be checked regularly by staff. Hand sanitisers stations are available throughout the venue. We encourage all customers to wash their hands regularly and to use the hand sanitisers after touching any surface.
TESTING
Our staff are tested two to three times a week to help ensure their safety and yours. We encourage all customers to use this link to send for the free lateral flow tests available from the NHS site and to test themselves. Testing yourself a couple of times a week means you can be sure you are doing your best to protect yourself, your family and your fellow concert goers.
RISK ASSESSMENT
We have carried out a full risk assessment for your safety and for that of our staff. We can happily provide copies for your peace of mind simply make a request by using our contact page
